Julie Tappendorf is a partner with the Chicago law firm Ancel Glink, where she represents government entities in a variety of legal matters, including advising them on the legal and ethical issues that arise with government use of social media.
Julie co-authored the book Social Media & Local Governments: Navigating the New Public Square (ABA Press, 2013), among a number of other books and articles on government issues. She is a frequent speaker at local and national conferences on government use of social media. She has also written numerous social media policies, and frequently conducts trainings on public employee social media conduct.
Julie is the author of the Municipal Minute blog where she writes about new cases, laws, and other topics of interest to local government employees and officials, including social media legal and ethical issues.
