Karen Tapahe is the Community Relations Coordinator for the Provo City Council. She manages communications and engagement for the City Council and coordinates the City’s Neighborhood Program, which is organized under the Council office. From social media posts, newsletters, and blog articles to broadcasting meetings via Google Hangouts on air, she is a one-woman communications powerhouse who has raised public engagement with the Council to new highs.
Prior to working for Provo City, Karen spent more than a dozen years working with nonprofits, including Heritage Schools, Inc. and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, leading efforts in fundraising, communications, and events. Karen holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Utah Valley University and is proud to be among the inaugural members of the Government Social Media Organization (GSMO).
