We sincerely thank all who participated, and for every nominee in their efforts and commitment to embracing social media in government.
Nominations. Golden Post Award nominations were open to the public, and individuals or U.S. state or local agencies were welcome to submit entries by February 20, 2015. Nominations came from a mix of citizens, public and private organizations, and self-nominations. Multiple nominations were combined, and a total of 171 nominations were presented to the public.
Crowdsourcing. Public support was overwhelming, and more than 6,000 votes and hundreds of comments supporting the nominations were received during the nine-day crowdsourcing phase of the awards program! Votes were facilitated via the Listly platform to allow for one vote per person per entry.
Finalists. Nominations that were top-ranked via crowdsourcing were weighted heavily for the Finalists phase and presented to the Awards Team (a sub-team of the GSMCON Advisory Team) for multiple reviews. However, ALL entries were considered and nominations with especially compelling merits were considered for finalist positions as well.
Honorable Mentions. Certain nominations were selected to receive special distinction as an Honorable Mention. Although these entries do not continue to the next level, the Awards Team felt they deserved particular recognition.
Winners. Winners will be announced on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at GSMCON. The number of winners may vary for each category. Finalists do not need to be present at the event, but we encourage honorees to attend as winners will receive their awards during a special luncheon ceremony. Awards without a recipient present will be mailed.
