Brittany has served the City of Corona, California as a Community Information Specialist since 2013, and has expanded the City’s communication mediums to the city’s 160,000+ residents through robust social media programs, press releases, a community blog, and the development of a mobile app. She also manages the day to day operations and management of social media pages for the Corona Police and Fire Departments. Brittany holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from Cal Poly Pomona and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Cal Baptist University. She’s a firm believer in the Oxford Comma.

B.J. Doughty leads the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s Community Relations Division and serves as the chief spokesperson for the agency. The division’s mission is to provide leadership in promoting TDOT, integrating the concerns of our customers into our processes and promoting a consistent message. This involves conducting community outreach activities, managing public meetings and hearings, establishing relationships with the news media and community groups, assisting the general public in accessing TDOT’s services, answering questions and concerns, and providing better communication both inside and outside the department.
Prior to her time at TDOT, Ms. Doughty worked for 10 years as a newscast producer at WKRN-TV (Ch. 2) in Nashville. She earned two Midsouth Regional Emmy Awards for Best Daytime Newscast and Breaking News Coverage. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and resides in Nashville.
Kirstin Kline is the Social Media Manager at the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS). She manages CalPERS presence on social media, defining and executing strategic social media initiatives.
She began her State service 16 years ago as the Assistant Director of Voter Outreach for the California Secretary of State’s Office. Since then she has worked for the California Department of Corporations and the California Conservation Corps before joining CalPERS in 2007. She has extensive experience in research, outreach, and communications.
Kirstin hold a Master’s Degree in Political Science from California State University, Fullerton, and a Bachelor’s degree in both Political Science and Anthropology from the University of California at Irvine.
Colin Steiner is the Social Media Contributor at the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), joining the agency in November 2014.
Before arriving at CalPERS, Colin worked as a radio host for an NPR member station and then a field reporter and multimedia journalist for an ABC affiliate, giving him extensive experience using social media to share news stories in any environment. Colin’s journalism background gives him experience in research, writing, photography, and video production.
Colin is a graduate of California State University, Chico, where he majored in Liberal Arts with a minor in English Literature. He is also a new member of the Sacramento Metro EDGE communications committee, a group which promotes opportunities for professionals 40 and younger and does philanthropic work in the Sacramento area.
Royjindar (Raj) Singh is a Sheriff’s Deputy assigned to patrol operations with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department in Central California. Since 2006, Raj has been involved with the departments Public Information Officer (PIO) duties in both full-time and collateral positions. Raj is one of two people who manage the social media team, which runs the Sheriff’s Departments 5 Facebook pages and 1 Twitter account. Raj was selected in 2011 be the Lead PIO on the South Central Sierra Interagency Incident Management Team (IMT). As a team member on this federal IMT, Raj has had the opportunity to travel throughout California to help manage several large wildland fires as the incident PIO.
Raj is a certified instructor for the FEMA/NIMS PIO course. In addition, Raj has earned a Crisis Communications Specialist Certificate from the California Office of Emergency Services.
