Golden Post AwardsThe 2016 Golden Post Awards are the second annual award program exclusively designed to recognize the outstanding use of social media by local and state government agencies in the U.S. Thank you to ArchiveSocial as our 2016 award sponsor and to all of the individuals who took the time to submit an entry.

2016 Golden Post Winners & Finalists

The GSMCON Awards Committee reviewed over 150 entries to select finalists in seven distinct categories. First and second place winners in each category were revealed at the 2016 Government Social Media Conference & Expo (GSMCON) in Reno, Nevada on April 7, 2016.

Crowd Favorite

Finalists were eligible for a special crowdsourced award by receiving the most public votes. See the crowd favorite voting results.

2016 Golden Post Awards Supported By

 ArchiveSocial and Government Technology jointly presented the awards during a special awards dinner at GSMCON2016 at the Atlantis Resort in Reno, Nevada.

Note, the category of “Outstanding Government Social Media Policy” was withdrawn this year due to few entries received.

2016 Awards Program Rules

ELIGIBILITY: Eligible agencies include any government or quasi-government entity or program from a city, town, township, village, borough, county, state, regional or tribal government or territory of the United States. Entries must include all required information in order to be considered.

This awards program is NOT open to federal agencies, educational institutions, military, or any agency outside of the United States or its territories. Members of the GSMCON Advisory Team or their agencies are not eligible during the year they actively serve on the Team.

ENTRY LIMIT: Entries can only be submitted under ONE category, and agencies may not have more than ONE entry per category.

FINALIST SELECTION: The GSMCON Awards Team will select the finalists and winners in each category. Finalists will be announced March 8, and the winners will be announced during the GSMCON awards presentation dinner on April 7, 2016, at the Atlantis Resort in Reno, Nevada.

CROWD FAVORITE: Finalists will also be added to a voting platform for the selection of a “Crowd Favorite”. Finalists are encouraged to promote their entries on social media and by any other means.
