B.J. Doughty leads the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s Community Relations Division and serves as the chief spokesperson for the agency. The division’s mission is to provide leadership in promoting TDOT, integrating the concerns of our customers into our processes and promoting a consistent message. This involves conducting community outreach activities, managing public meetings and hearings, establishing relationships with the news media and community groups, assisting the general public in accessing TDOT’s services, answering questions and concerns, and providing better communication both inside and outside the department.
Prior to her time at TDOT, Ms. Doughty worked for 10 years as a newscast producer at WKRN-TV (Ch. 2) in Nashville. She earned two Midsouth Regional Emmy Awards for Best Daytime Newscast and Breaking News Coverage. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and resides in Nashville.
