Megan VanDenHeuvel

Megan VanDenHeuvelMegan is the Warning Coordination Meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Great Falls. She began her passion for weather while growing up in western Pennsylvania where she was exposed to various weather extremes from severe summer thunderstorms to blizzards and lake-effect snowstorms in the winter. She followed her passion and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology in 2006 from Pennsylvania State University. After nearly two years of working in the private sector, Megan moved to Montana in 2008 to pursue a career with the National Weather Service.

In addition to becoming the Warning Coordination Meteorologist in early 2015, she earned her Master in Science and Engineering Management from Montana State University. As the Warning Coordination Meteorologist, Megan works closely with emergency and safety officials from multiple local, state and federal agencies as well as manages the local office warning program. Outside of the office, she enjoys exploring Montana’s majestic landscapes from hiking and mountain biking to skiing and snowshoeing.
