Nekasha Pratt, Director of Marketing Tennessee Department of Tourist Development
Nekasha Pratt is a versatile marketer with over 15 years of experience. She leverages her background in social media, advertising, digital marketing, and technology to define and communicate organizations’ brands. Throughout her career, Nekasha has spearheaded national/international programs, led digital development projects, and managed marketing operations and staff. She has a unique background in promoting products, services, and experiences – both B2B and B2C – in industries such as financial services, tourism, manufacturing, insurance, and consumer goods.
Nekasha is currently director of marketing for the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development where she helps lead marketing initiatives for an industry that generated $1.8 billion in state tax revenue last year. She previously served as Director of Marketing & Donor Relations for the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM), leading the organization’s re-branding and helping complete groundbreaking.
Her 2018 awards include the Nashville Business Journal’s Top 40 under 40, Nashville Chamber’s Emerging Leader Award (NELA), and the Susan Short Jones Emerging Leaders Award. Nekasha was also a 2018 ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award nominee. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Management/ Marketing, is a globally certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and earned a Foundations in 21st Century Leadership certificate through Executive Leadership Academy with Lipscomb University.
