Melissa Ragsdale Darragh

Social Media Director, City of Houston, TX

Melissa is the Social Media Director for the City of Houston. She manages policy, compliance, community engagement and provides strategy for all departments. Houston is the fourth largest city spanning 640 sq. mi and the most ethnically diverse metropolitan area in the nation. More than 120 languages are spoken in the region. During her tenure, she’s communicated with Houston residents through multiple disasters, most recently Hurricane Harvey – the costliest storm in the nation’s history. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Houston. When she’s not managing social media, she sings with her band, is a member of the Houston Symphony Chorus, and a professional actor.
